Bodies Found at Three Minneapolis Locations Between Saturday and Monday

Police in Minneapolis are investigating after a third body was discovered in the city within three days, with the latest remains found near the Stone Arch Bridge.
FOX9 reported that the University of Minnesota Police Department found a body near the bridge Monday. Authorities have not released details about the person’s identity or what led to the death.
The discovery marks the third body found in Minneapolis since Saturday.
The first body was discovered around 6 p.m. Saturday in a wooded area near East River Flats Park along the Mississippi River.
Police identified the woman as Karen Lynn Sognesand, 56, of Maple Grove, according to the Minnesota Star Tribune.
Her obituary described Sognesand as a loving daughter, sister and friend and said she had struggled with mental health issues following the loss of her father.
The second body was found around 11:30 a.m. Sunday near the shoreline of Bde Maka Ska Lake.
According to the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, the body was in an advanced state of decomposition when it was discovered.
Authorities have not said whether the three deaths are connected or whether any of the cases involve criminal activity.
